Jessi Plourde began their tap dance journey at the age of five at The Dance Refinery. After spending ten years there, they moved to Dance Expressions with Kerri as one of her teachers for the next five years. Throughout her years spent at Dance Expressions, Jessi trained in all styles of dance, focusing primarily on tap. When Kerri opened up Impulse Dance Academy, Jessi was very eager to be a part of the crew.
While Jessi taught group classes in ballet and tap, she also choreographed and taught tap solos for dancers ranging in age from 8-15 in her final three years at the studio. She choreographed and competed her own solos in her final two years with Dance Expressions, claiming the title of "Miss NYLA Dance" for both 2015 and 2016. Jessi was also awarded Overall Top Scorer at the same NYLA Dance Competition with their self-choreographed solos both years. Outside of teaching dance, Jessi is a Middle School English Teacher at the International School of Indiana. Jessi is very excited to share her passion for tap dance and for teaching with Impulse Dance Academy!
